This year, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is celebrating Christmas with a whole range of specially crafted drinks – the Toffee Nut Latte, Double Chocolate Peppermint Ice Blended and Red Velvet Hot Cocoa – as well as traditional desserts inspired by European classics – the Christmas Surprise Sampler, German Stollen, Classic Christmas Log, Sugar n’ Chai Cheesecake and the menu highlight, the Scottish-inspired Dundee Fruit Cake!

The Christmas menu is developed by award-winning Chef Johnny Loh whose goal as a chef has always been to make people feel happy when tasting his food, so you can be sure your worries will go out the window when sampling The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®’s Christmas selections. Speaking about the challenge faced when creating the menu, Loh says, “There’s a fine line to tread when dealing with classics. If you play it safe, then there’s nothing new; if you make drastic changes, people may not be able to adjust to the new taste.”

Loh is confident The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®’s special Christmas menu is a perfect balance for Malaysians to enjoy this jolly season. Specially-designed Gift Tags, sold at a mere RM2, will be available in stores as well to support the Malaysian Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Association. All sales from the Christmas gift tags will aid the Association’s Malaysian Lupus Resource Centre. So, be sure to get one (or more!) of these when you’re grabbing your favourite cup of coffee. In Malaysia, an estimated 10,000 individuals have been diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) over the past 30 years. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, incurable auto-immune disease which causes the body to produce large amounts of anti-bodies which then react against the tissues. On Friday, 4 December, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® launched and introduced their Christmas offerings at Paradigm Mall with a special talk by Chef Johnny Loh himself entitled “The Art of Ginger Dough-Making”, followed by a dough-making session where attendees got to design their own Gingerbread Man with step-by-step instructions and special tips by Johnny Loh.
