5 Most Insta-Worthy Cafés to Beautify Your Instagram Feedby Amanda Looi on Jun 12, 2016 • 11:00 AM No Comments
We all know Instagram is awesome. It’s so awesome to the point that people are going all out to ensure that their Insta feed will always look Insta-worthy. I’m not sure when, how or why it became a thing but all of a sudden, youngsters of our generation are more concerned about the appearance of their Insta feed than the well-being of their goldfish. For the sake of a beautiful Insta feed, they’ll only frequent Insta-worthy cafés and eat Insta-worthy meals. But hey, I’m not complaining cause I like to look at pretty pictures as much as everybody else.
In light of that, it’s only appropriate that food stylist and photographer, Eunice Eunny (who has the best Insta feed of all time), shares her top 5 picks of the most Insta-worthy cafés for all you Insta-addicts out there.
I don’t know about you but the one thing that prompts me to visit a restaurant a second time, is the service. When it comes to being a regular at an eatery, I only look for 2 things: a high level of hygiene, and good service. Obviously, the quality of food plays an important role, too, but if the waiters and waitresses display horrible attitude, it automatically just strikes a bad chord with me.
VCR is one such place that does not disappoint in all aspects. With a black-themed interior (every hipster’s dream right?), they are home to lovely people, amazing food and desserts, top-notch coffee, and in the words of Eunice herself, “Every corner is Instagram-able.” I mean really, what more can you ask for?
Opening Hours: 08:30 – 23:00, daily
Address: 2, Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang, 50150 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact No.: +60 3-2110 2330
2) Whup Whup
This cutely-named café boosts ample space with a high ceiling, perfect for those who are claustrophobic. Food is pretty good but guess what’s the winning factor? They have entertaining description on their menus! Cause who doesn’t want a Puckerface for dessert? I know I do. ;)
Opening Hours: 11:00 – 22:00, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
Address: 12, Jalan SS13/3B, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Contact No.: +60 3-5612 6250
3) Nara Kitchen & Co
When it comes to Instagram, a decent picture is the key to getting likes. And you can’t get one without good lighting. Filters can help but nothing beats a #nofilter hashtag for your caption, am I right? Nara Kitchen & Co brings in great lighting and their food presentation will ensure that your picture gets more likes than your selfies.
Opening Hours: 11:00 – 22:00 (weekdays), 10:00 – 22:00 (weekends), closed on Tuesdays
Address: 61, Jalan SS 21/1, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Contact No.: +60 3-7733 5897
4) Merchants Lane
Just like Nara Kitchen & Co, this café has good lighting pouring in, too, but you know what’s better than good lighting? Good natural lighting so you can add a #natural hashtag in addition to the #nofilter hashtag. Not to forget, they are famous for their old-school design and that’ll be a hit with the girls cause that means there are plenty of #ootd background opportunities!
Opening Hours: 11:30 – 22:00 (weekdays), 09:30 – 22:00 (weekends), closed on Wednesdays
Address: 150, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact No.: +60 3-2022 1736
5) New Chapter by Owls Café
If there’s one thing I notice about hipster cafés, is that the tables only cater to a group of 4 to 6 at most. Is it a hipster thing to dine in small parties? I’ll never know, but New Chapter begs to differ with a spacious interior and large tables that are more than suitable for a big group. Eunice also told us that she loves the vibe of this café. Not sure what she means by that but guess you’ll have to go to find out!
Opening Hours: 10:00 – 19:00 (Mon to Thu), 10:00 – 23:00 (Fri and Sat), 11:00 – 19:00 (Sun)
Address: Jalan Jalil Jaya 6, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact No.: +60 3-9543 9828
